New homes at 22-30 Old Bath Road,
Newbury
Proposed Housing Designs & Mix
The proposed buildings will be designed to respond to the established character and form of the area. In particular, our proposed new homes adjacent to The Lawn have been designed to complement The Lawn with traditional proportions and detailing.

The new homes will incorporate the following architectural details and materials:
- Townhouses will be in traditional form with bookend gables, flat-roofed dormer windows, porches and will include large vertically-proportioned windows coupled with generous layouts.
- The apartments will incorporate windows, balconies and brick detailing. Steps in the building line will emphasise depth and articulation, while a visually recessive upper storey will be set back from the main façade to soften the building and help it blend with neighbours. Contemporary brick detailing and balconies with bronze-finished ironwork will provide a high-quality finish.
- There will be a careful transition in scale from domestic townhouse to apartments.
- The design of our proposed new homes adjacent to The Lawn will respect the listed building and its parkland, creating new homes which will harmonise with The Lawn.
