Vehicle access will be off Old Bath Road. However, we also want to encourage walking into the town to access local facilities, and the use of public transport and cycling to locations further afield.

The proximity of the new homes to the town centre fits into West Berkshire Council’s Active Travel Policy and thus, various shops and employment opportunities, are walkable. Moreover, the train station is a 20 minute walk away and a bus stop (Speen Lane Foot) is directly adjacent on Old Bath Road.

 

The proposed cycle and car parking allocations for the apartments and townhouses

 

We are proposing to provide 137 parking spaces – 36 allocated to specific properties (shown in green), 77 unallocated spaces for residents of the apartments (shown in red), and 24 unallocated spaces for visitors (shown in blue). Long term cycle storage will be provided in cycle stores to ensure that cycling is an equally appropriate option for short trips.
